A Note from Jan Dalby

It is with mixed emotions that I will retire effective December 31, 2026. I have had the honor of working with so many precious children and families at PAR for over the past thirty years. The time has gone so quickly. I want all of you to know how much I enjoyed caring for your little ones and watching them grow.

Pediatric Associates of Richmond hired me as their first nurse practitioner / lactation consultant. An opportunity to trailblaze the role of not only nurse practitioner, but also the opportunity to offer lactation support to new mothers at the pediatric office. This was a novel concept at the time, but now a standard of care. I got to celebrate hundreds (if not thousands) of first yellow mustard breastfed stools and the success of gaining back to birth weight. It has never gotten old. I also had the privilege of seeing children pursue their dreams and even become parents themselves.

Hug your little ones everyday. Marvel at their development. And don’t forget to eat your vegetables!

I’m looking forward to this new chapter, and to spending more time with my retired husband, my two grandsons (soon to be three), and my dogs Coriander, Pepper, Cayenne, and Barli.

Sincerely,

Jan Dalby, CPNP, IBCLC
