Vaccine Policy

  1.  All healthcare providers at Pediatric Associates of Richmond recommend the vaccine schedule published by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practice (ACIP).
  2.  Universal vaccination has contributed extensively to disease prevention and is a fundamental part of pediatric care.  Evidence-based studies have been done to verify vaccine safety.  Please view the following resources for further information.
  3.  Vaccines will be discussed and recommended at each routine well visit.  This discussion will take place regardless of your child’s vaccination status or prior refusal of vaccines.
  4.  If you choose to refuse a vaccine for your child, we will require you to sign our Refusal to Vaccinate form.  This form acknowledges that we have discussed the importance of the vaccine(s) with you and you understand the risks of choosing not to vaccinate your child.
