Sanofi U.S. is voluntarily recalling all Auvi-Q epinephrine auto-injectors due to suspected malfunctions that could deliver the wrong dose of medication. If your child has an Auvi-Q epinephrine injector, please call our office immediately for an EpiPen prescription.
For instructions on returning the Auvi-Q devices, contact the company at www.Auvi-Q.com, by email at firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone at 866-726-6340. Sanofi will reimburse customers for the out-of-pocket costs of purchasing a new auto-injector.
Thank you for your patience this flu vaccine season. We have opened appointments for the flu vaccine through the end of October, including some evenings. We have a very limited supply of Flumist as a result of an issue with the production of the vaccine. We may not receive our next shipment of Flumist until January. Because we start seeing cases of influenza in October and November, and because peak flu season starts in December, we do not advise waiting until January to have your child immunized. Additionally it can take up to 2 weeks for a person’s body to make antibodies to the flu vaccine. The American Academy of Pediatrics states that the flu shot and Flumist are equally effective.
We have plenty of flu shots for patients ages 6 months and up, and will continue opening appointments as we are able. Stay tuned to our emails and this News and Press section of our website for further updates regarding flu vaccine availability.

Congratulations to Dr. Jeffrey Mapp on being voted The Best Pediatrician in the Richmond Times-Dispatch first edition of “RTD The Best”. The publication was released with Sunday’s paper on October 12, 2015. Dr. Mapp would to thank all the parents who nominated and voted for him.
We now have flu vaccine appointments available for October 5th – October 9th. We have a limited supply of the flu vaccine, including flu shots for ages 6 months and up and the nasal flu vaccine (Flu Mist) for ages 2 years and up. We will continue to open appointments one to two weeks at a time as our shipments arrive. We apologize for these delays and any inconvenience, but are making the vaccines available as soon as we possibly can. Please call to schedule an appointment for your child. As we have more information we will update our patients both by email and website updates.
